Day 11: Vancouver Island - Tofino

From our accommodation in Nanaimo, we start our first day trip to Tofino. Along the way, we stop at Cathedral Grove, Little Qualicum Falls (the hike to the larger Della Falls would have been a two-day trek), and the rainforest in Pacific Rim National Park.

Tofino is a very laid-back surfer's paradise. Here, you can spend several days taking surf lessons.

Even without a surfboard, we enjoy Long Beach, our first encounter with the Pacific Ocean. The water is warm enough for us to go in up to our knees.
