Port de Borriana - Denia, 62.5 nm, weather, light breeze at start at 600, waves 20-30 cm, this was to change during the day, after 5 hours of sailing 30 cm waves with a light to moderate breeze were forecast. Planned crossing 8 hours.
Praise to the weather god, that day he stuck fully to Windy's plan.
For the first time, we left the harbor before sunrise. However, the sun didn't take long to appear.
We drove a long distance from the coast, so for the first time we were cut off from our usual telephone and internet connections.
We were only able to see Denia and its local mountain Montgo properly late, as the winds meet at Cabo de la Nao and the region remained hidden in a veil for a long time due to the Montgo massif.
We reached the harbor around 3 p.m.
This is usually a good time, as the local boats usually return to the port later. The captain's office is also closed at this time of year, and usually only opens at 4 p.m. So we were able to moor at the gas station, recharge our batteries, and the friendly marineros immediately arranged a berth for us, initially just for one night.
At that time, we still assumed that we would head off to Ibiza the very next day.
Our first impression of the port was more than positive, so much so that we almost regretted having to just set off.
When we later planned our course and the weather, we realized that the good conditions had been postponed by a day. So we decided to bring the bikes ashore and explore Denia by bike the next day.
This was a good decision, as Denia is very different from the ports and towns we have visited so far.
