01.11. - On the way to see the Northern Lights

For one week, we are traveling to the far north. We are willing to endure the expected cold weather and limited daylight in the hope of seeing the Northern Lights. Our destination is Tromsø, Norway.

We are flying from Frankfurt with Lufthansa, first to Oslo. Due to a delayed flight, we only have 55 minutes left out of the planned 2 hours for our layover. That's cutting it close! On our way to the gate, we find out that we have to check our luggage in Oslo again. The path through baggage claim, check-in, and security control is long. Then some good news, our flight to Tromsø is also delayed! However, a last-minute gate change cancels out the gained time. Exhausted but happy, we are sitting in the plane of Scandinavian Airlines and arrive in Tromsø amidst snowfall and dark polar night.

An airport bus takes us to 'Clarion Hotel the Edge' directly at the harbor. After paying 9€ for a beer and probably the most expensive burger on our travels, we fall tired into our beds.
