Seville: more than just flamenco and bullfighting

شائع شدہ: 18.08.2023

After leaving behind the traces of Columbus, we continued on to Seville. This time, a bit of sightseeing was on the agenda.

Our first stop was the Alcazar Palace. This Moorish building was later taken over by the royal family, resulting in a bizarre mixture of Arabic and Christian cultures. Outside, the typical gardens and tiles, inside, the crosses and Catholic images. Still, it was all very impressive to see. Even a family of peacocks strutted around us while we had coffee in the royal garden, hoping to get something to eat (but they were out of luck with us...).

Right next to the palace is the Cathedral and the Giralda Tower, both very impressive as well.

From there, we set off to a bullfighting arena. On the way there, we made a stop at an ice cream parlor, where according to Cindy, they had the best pistachio ice cream in the world (one scoop for a proud 3.50€).

Although we're not fans of bullfights, we wanted to see an arena like this. The tour took us through a museum, where they tried to explain the meaning of this culture, but it didn't work for us. The highlight was entering the arena.

After 5 hours of sightseeing in 40-degree heat, we made our sweaty way back to the campsite.

The next day, Steffi and Elisa explored the second part of the city. They took a hop-on-hop-off bus to the other sights. With temperatures now at 45 degrees, it was definitely more pleasant than walking. But they still had enough energy for a detour to the Hard Rock Café... and Elisa bought herself a cool new t-shirt there.

The Plaza de España was the absolute highlight of the tour.

Seville is a very beautiful city and has a lot to offer.
