Nanou (my roommate) currently has a friend visiting (Alexis), with whom I've been doing a lot, especially in the last few days.
----------Trou de Fer----------
On November 9th we did the “Trou de Fer” hike. Since it was supposed to rain from 10 a.m. that day, we wanted to be on our way home by then - so we set off at 4:30 a.m.
The viewpoint is located in Salazie and is relatively easy to reach. We (Alexis, Nanou, Celine and I) parked in a hiking parking lot and then made our way through muddy jungle for about 1.5 hours.
We actually wanted to walk the circular route, but it was suddenly closed, so after reaching the viewing platform we took the same route towards the car again.
On the way home we stopped at a bakery and had breakfast, as none of us had eaten anything beforehand due to the early departure time. We were back in the shared apartment around 12 p.m.
----------Birthdays----------
On November 11th Then three Erasmus girls, including my roommate Celine, celebrated their birthday together on the beach. It was a super good atmosphere and an absolutely successful evening. I don't remember much though, so here are just a few pictures :D
What I do remember is that due to a small planning error, we suddenly only had one car to carry all our food and drinks and of course to the beach. That meant about 6 large bags and 6 people in a car with 4.5 seats and a small trunk. The solution was that the three of us sat in the back seat and Celine lay across our legs. We just prayed that the police wouldn't look in the car...
----------Maido----------
On November 13th We then did something that I had wanted to do for ages: the sunrise at Maido. This is supposed to be (and I think it really is) the most beautiful place to watch the sunrise on this island.
We left at 3:30 a.m. and arrived around 5:30 a.m. - you can drive all the way up to 2205 m by car. We were incredibly lucky, the sky was clear and you were really amazed when you saw all the colors. However, it was also quite cold - 5°C.
The pictures don't even begin to convey how beautiful it was, you really have to see it for yourself!
