Warnemünde and Departure with the AIDAmar

Ku kandziyisiwile: 22.10.2024

In the morning we arrived in Warnemünde, where we wanted to park our motorhome during our short Baltic Sea cruise. However, first we needed to find a waste disposal station, which turned out to be a bigger challenge than expected. Some stations had already been dismantled due to the approaching winter, and we could only dispose of our waste at the third location we tried. Since the place was actually full, we had to park outside (or stand in the way because there was no parking space) and take a little walk with our toilet.
Finally, we arrived at the parking lot and were then taken to the cruise terminal by shuttle bus.

Along the harbor, we turned into the streets of the city center.

We visited the brick church, where we were particularly struck by a statue of Saint Christopher, which was over three meters tall, carrying a small Jesus on his shoulders.

We walked back to the water through Alexandrinenstraße.

At the lighthouse, we took a coffee break and sat outside in the sunshine. It was surprisingly warm for October.

We continued our way along the promenade.

The first day of the cruise was a sea day, which we spent enjoying sports, a pleasant round of Doppelkopf, an artistic evening program, and lots of food.
