On the way to Warnemünde, we made a stop in Kühlungsborn. There, we wanted to take a walking tour of the holiday resort.
However, this turned out to be more difficult than expected because all parking spaces in the area were only allowed for cars, and we were not permitted to park our motorhome there.
We considered whether to risk a parking ticket or simply continue driving until we finally found a parking space a little outside where we could stay.
Our way back to the center took us over the tracks of the narrow-gauge steam train “Molli,” which connects Bad Doberan with Kühlungsborn. We saw it pass by us twice as well.
We walked through the shopping street, where clothing and souvenir shops lined up alongside restaurants and cafés.
After a stop for lunch, we arrived at the water and the pier.
We continued along Germany's longest beach promenade, which is 3.5 kilometers long, by the water.
Now at the beginning of the autumn holidays and on a Saturday, many walkers were out and about.
After enjoying the view of the Baltic Sea long enough, we walked through a wooded area back to the parking lot.
We spent the night at Detlefsen Fishery Farm, where we bought not only hot apple juice and cake but also smoked fish for dinner from the farm shop.
After the sweet treat, we took a walk through the Nature Reserve Hüttener Klosterteiche.
The ponds were used by the monks of the monastery in Bad Doberan in the Middle Ages and were restored in the 20th century.
Our path took us through the autumn forest back to our well-deserved dinner with some ups and downs.
