Twingo-Tetris

Ku kandziyisiwile: 17.09.2021

The extensive lack of space soon proves to be a decisive disadvantage of our motorhome during the tour.

Just the grocery shopping for two days gets me really sweaty. Everything has to be stored and accommodated. Chilled delicacies go under the insulating blanket, preferably so that the packaging does not break and the yogurt or even worse, the shrimp defrosting water ends up on the bed. Fruit, vegetables, and bread are stored in the cooking box and everything else has its place in my clothes compartment because that's where the power is with Zappa. Drinks that are not for immediate consumption go under the "hood" at the front, which is not actually a hood. Somehow everything always fits in, I am amazed every time that it works.

However, it so happens that Sundays are flea markets in France as well. And in September, vide greniers seem to be common in many villages. Once a year, all residents bring out their treasures from barns, basements, attics, or wherever and sell their stuff.

There is so much to see there! Of course, lots of ladies' chic and plastic toys, but also kitchen helpers, tools, or lamps of all kinds. There are useful and useless things for 10, 20, or 30 cents! Unfortunately, unfortunately, we don't have any space, unfortunately no.

Good thing our path doesn't lead there!

Otherwise, after just two Sundays, we would already have the craziest things on board: a historic French 20-liter brass garden sprayer, a mobile jack with a capacity of 2.5 tons that every gas station would be proud of, a beautiful, finally large enough mixing bowl for my mom, a small druid sickle, guaranteed to be 200 years old, a field hoe with an ax, a really cool floor lamp...

Years of Tetris playing currently benefit the master of warehouse logistics, which is why the following additional luggage can now be found in the Twingo: a flutter cloth, a beautiful pillow in sun-warmed colors, a hippie bag, a shoe brush to dust off the car, a nutmeg grater, a skirt, a warm wool sweater, a pewter jug, romantic candle holders...

...a small selection...

...an original side axe (an ax with a 20cm wide blade for hewing tree trunks), a nut splitter, a 2KW spirit stove, old cameras, a brass spirit burner...

...just a small glimpse...

...two 40cm high petroleum lamps that illuminated a stable before World War I. And we still have several Sundays ahead of us!

The decision is final: the next trip to France will only start with a caravan or trailer!
