We've been living here like kings for the past 2 weeks, and to keep the home feeling the same, we went grocery shopping today. Mission accomplished: supermarket almost empty, cider supply depleted!
From the supermarket, we took a little detour into the city (I've been looking for a yellow raincoat for some time now, and they're more likely to have it here than back home). Unfortunately, I got lost in a store that was filled with the craziest plush toys and decorations (the other food provider had to forcefully remove me from there....). You guys haven't seen anything like it! Absolutely mind-blowing! By the way, Udo slipped into my cart on the way out (it was in the heat of the moment...). Udo is our French exchange student, and he's coming with us to Würzburg (some people say he looks like he grew up in Chernobyl...). Udo sends his regards:
But now we need to hurry home. We had a table reserved for 7 PM. So I threw the other food provider out of the car in front of the restaurant and went to look for a parking spot. Luckily, I found one quite quickly. But on the way to the restaurant, suddenly everyone had yellow raincoats displayed....so I couldn't miss the opportunity. So I rushed from store to store with the sausage tied around me, making the sausage move aside each time, looking for a mirror, taking off my jacket, and searching the store for the right size. We did this performance in 3 stores, and lo and behold...both the yellow coat and Udo came with us!
But now, let's go! When we arrived at the restaurant, as usual, we started with a Kir Breton (in the morning, we naturally bought everything we needed for Kir Breton at home....) and ordered the platter.
Well, what can I say....my opinion about this platter hasn't changed since 2018 (this time it even came with lobster on top):
a) You can only lose weight while eating it...2 hours of peeling, cracking, sucking, slurping....you're working your way through the food so intensely that you can only end up with a negative calorie count...
b) So much protein weighs heavy on the stomach...
c) I won't need an introduction to Langustino & Friends for the next few weeks
But let's stop complaining. It was delicious! All the guests celebrated us (of course, we sat at the most central table in the restaurant and were fully exposed.....)
But, unfortunately, today the sausage only got junk food....
To neutralize the saltwater, we had dessert afterwards.
Back home, we took the sausage into the sea in the dark (dogs are not allowed on the beach here). It had the time of its life (hopefully without drinking any water, but we couldn't see that in the dark....). 'After-sea-breading' included, of course....
After the trip to the sea, the three of us went home and quickly fell into bed. Unfortunately, tomorrow is departure day....
Until then!
