To start the day productively and make the most of my stay in Hvar, I wake up at 7. This time, I hike directly over the mountain to the beautiful beach where we jumped from the cliffs 2 days ago. Surprisingly, I am almost the only one there and find a nice spot for my morning yoga :) The swim that follows begins with another jump from the cliffs :)
It's perfect that my ferry departs at 10:45, so I can check out, finish my breakfast leftovers, and say goodbye to the people in peace. I'm pretty tired on the speedboat to Korčula and sleep almost the entire time. When I arrive in Korčula, the first thing that catches my attention is the tall, bright mountain range right by the sea.
In Korčula, I booked an Airbnb because I need a private room after three nights in hostels. Katarina, the host, welcomes me warmly. I'm not sure what I'll do on this day yet. So I wander around the old town a bit, but it's somehow too hot for a city stroll and I'm annoyed by the tourists, of which there are quite a few here. I rent a bike for 4 hours at 10 Euros to explore the surrounding area a bit and find a nice place to swim. The guy who rents me the bike doesn't seem to like his job and is the unfriendliest Croatian I've met so far. Unfortunately, my bike tour only covers a radius of 5-8 km because it's quite hilly in between. It's hard to believe that just 2 years ago, I was riding much longer distances....
Initially, I thought I needed a day just for myself, but by the evening, when I want to go out to eat, I feel a bit lonely. I really don't like sitting alone in a nice restaurant in the evening, and I also think it's a waste of money. So, unfortunately, I end up in a fast food restaurant, which has great reviews on TripAdvisor, but that probably only applies to the meat burgers. My vegetarian sandwich is not as bad as the one in Ljubljana, but it's still nothing special...
