15.06. / Wednesday / Estes Park
We get up leisurely at 9:30 am. What a luxury. No discoveries await, no education. I quickly go to Safeway for a coffee and then we have breakfast on the terrace in the sun! For the rest of the day, we don't leave the terrace, but instead fry ourselves and read there.

At 7:00 pm, we gather our things and drive the two miles to downtown Estes Park, walk along the main street, which for once is not called Main Street, but Elkwood Avenue, and have a good dinner at Mama Rose's by the river.

Today I have packed my bags to the point that I only need to squeeze the rest in tomorrow evening. The end of the vacation is inevitable. We're back at the hotel at 9:30 pm. By then, 99% of the stores and restaurants in downtown Estes Park had already closed. The season is starting much later this year due to the long winter and heavy snow, and the newspapers report an 18% decrease in visitors compared to the same time in 2010.
