Day 9: Venice - San Daniele

Nai-publish: 05.09.2022

Hello friends! (Pictures are the right way up this time!)

Today I reveal the greeting ritual & why I won a ham.
Simply click on the link below and win amazing prizes!

So today I was actually greeted with hello. Now only 1% of the population here speaks English.
Latin is probably the 2nd official language.
But I'll give it a try anyway!

What can I say, the first 60 km were lacking highlights. The only thing more boring is the paralympic horse race. Here, the riders have to carry the horses to the finish line. But that's another story.

If you think it's going to get more exciting, there is hope as suddenly there were beautiful cities in Italy.

The absolute highlight was actually the mountain bike race, which I accidentally won.
Now I have a ham (see picture).
How it happened is curious. After crossing a bridge, I got involved in a race. Someone stuck a race number on my back and shouted pronto pronto subito.
Well, I took that literally. Here I am now.
It was a bit unfair because my opponents were only 10-14 years old, but screw it! A win is a win.

With this high, the rest went smoothly with a few beautiful corners including the destination.
Dream resort with the best value for money you can get.
I just had to walk 4 km (there and back) to the restaurant, but what wouldn't you do for love! (for food)

But the so-called gravel beach just before the finish was really cool. It looked a bit surreal, but it made an impression on me. Maybe I've played too much Trackmania Sunrise Forever + Desert mode. The hardcore fans won't overlook the similarity here.

Tomorrow will be interesting. Either I'll be satisfied with 1500 meters of altitude gain until around 16:30, or I'll add another 1600 meters of altitude gain on 22 km to see the 3-country junction to Slovenia. It will be a gut or leg decision.

Oh, and the link: www.ichglaubmeinSchweinpfeift.de

See you tomorrow, dear ones!
