We spent the whole day on the bus heading to the capital. Since the journey in one go would have been too long, we made an overnight stop in Tianjin. Tianjin is considered a suburb with only 130 km distance from Beijing and with its 15 million inhabitants, it is one of those planned cities that have been built from scratch in the last 20 years. We learned that cities with less than 1 million inhabitants are considered villages in China. Here, everything is just a bit bigger to think about.
We stayed at the 'Westin'. After dinner (always at 6:00 p.m. it seems. Apparently, they eat early here.), we took a stroll through the manageable 'party mile' of Tianjin.
