Sorry for ending my last post so abruptly. Somehow a bit of text got lost. I've added the text now, so you can read the end of the last one again👍
So 6 more days in Vancouver! I spontaneously rented a city bike for another day to explore the area. I saw the university campus at the western tip of the city and a (very rare here) nude beach☺️. I also bought a new baseball cap from the Vancouver Canucks (their NHL team), not because I'm a hockey fan, but more as a souvenir of this amazing city. Another cool thing was the tour offered by the hostel to Capilano Valley. First, we went to the rainforest (!!) then visited a salmon farm, and finally went to a tourist attraction: the Capilano Bridge, a 140m long, quite wobbly suspension bridge over the Capilano River! Too many people, but worth seeing. The best part was the guide: Erik, 78 years old, immigrated from Sweden, he was really amazing! He knew everything. And since he has been offering the tour for 24(!) years (for free, only for tips🙈), it was also super organized. During the break in the morning, I spontaneously left my cap for the second time. Idiot!! But with a bit of phone calls and the efforts of very friendly Canadians, I was able to pick up the cap after the tour👍. On this tour, I also met people, which is always enriching. So I had dinner with Geoff and Steve, two gay guys from the USA (a couple?).
The next day, I had one of the highlights of this tour. Unfortunately, I started late, but I took the bus to Lynn Canyon to go mountain biking there in the afternoon. The best part is: you take a 45-minute bus ride out of the city and then you can tear down the trails of the rainforest in North Shore 😍😍😍. And that's exactly what I did, it was AWESOME!!! Even though I had to pay the full daily rate of $105 for just a few hours. WHO CARES, it was worth it! I also found a good biking buddy right away, Shen, who immigrated from France 6 months ago👍 I originally have 3 pictures, didn't have time, had to race! An incredible experience! After I finished and was satisfied, I arrived 10 minutes late at the bike shop and immediately asked if they needed a bike mechanic for the next season😂😂.
On Saturday, I took my flight from Vancouver to Edmonton. I tried a lot before that. Bus, train, ride-sharing. But either it wasn't available or it was expensive. In any case, each of the options would have taken about 13 hours. The flight was also expensive, but only took 1.5 hours. Sold!👍
