ተሓቲሙ: 30.07.2018

Today we left the glitter and glamour world of Vegas. The 3 hour drive took us primarily through the desert. Farms with sparse vegetation and animals like ostriches, horses, and cows with extremely long horns passed by. We arrived in sin-free Utah and the red rocks of Zion in the early afternoon. Just before Springdale, we turned off towards Rockville. We were enticed by Grafton, one of the most photographed ghost towns in the Southwest. Many Western classics were filmed there against a magnificent mountain backdrop and well-preserved Mormon houses. Even the original cemetery still had a few flowers on the graves. Enough to make Zoë's imagination run wild ;-) When we arrived in Springdale, we checked into a super charming motel with a wonderful garden - it was a bit like old England in front of an impressive mountain backdrop. Here, we rented the equipment that we will need for our 10-mile hike tomorrow. We will hike up the Zion Canyon, wading through 600-meter-high sandstone walls. The water is currently ankle to calf deep - we should be able to handle it.
