Gili Meno, even more photos

Yesterday we went on a snorkeling tour with the boat around the three islands. Of course, we were shown particularly beautiful areas underwater. There were fish as colorful and diverse as in 'Finding Nemo' (except for the clownfish). Once the guide threw fish food into the water and all the fish came to the surface, and we were in the middle of it! There were still intact corals that looked like mushrooms or large flowers; mostly in shades of brown but also purple. But the highlight was the turtles. How elegant and leisurely they 'floated' through the water! A giant turtle near the beach was eating sea grass from the sea floor and was so close that we could touch it. It was as big as the trunk of a grown person (it must have been very old).

It was an unforgettable experience.

Although we applied sunscreen well, our backs got severely burned (if only we had worn t-shirts and leggings).
