...a little forced break.

as our Emma unexpectedly lost a lot of coolant due to a spontaneous bout of incontinence, we stayed a few days longer than originally planned in the small town of Dunedin while waiting for a new radiator from Auckland. We passed the time by visiting this very impressive town of Scottish origin, which is quite rare for New Zealand standards. In addition to many beautiful buildings such as the train station and the university, the Otago Museum is particularly impressive with a skeleton of the extinct moa, which could grow up to three meters in height (and like almost everything here, unable to fly), a fossilized plesiosaurus, and even an Egyptian mummy from Thebes alongside relevant Maori history. We also spent a lot of time in the beautiful botanical and Chinese gardens of the city, as well as strolling through the many small and beautiful shops. We also took the opportunity to experience the healing arts of the local doctors firsthand (when it hurts, it's sometimes broken - Pauline slipped on a stone in the Catlins...).

But now Emma is no longer leaking and we can continue our journey!
