We spent the night in the rectory in a comfortable bed - thank you very much!

In Tergnier itself, there was nothing going on in the evening - no pizzeria, restaurant or anything like that to be found. The city was spotless, all the streets and sidewalks in our neighborhood were new and immaculate, but no one on the street - strange. However, the bakeries were open today, Sunday, so after a little refreshment we were able to tackle the next section of the route, of course along the canals.

Attack is a good keyword: the area in and around Campiegne was the scene of fierce battles between Germany and France in the First World War. The signing of the armistice in a wagon in the Compiegne Forest near Rethonde is also well known. In 1940, Hitler had the French sign their defeat in the same wagon in the same place.

At some point, we left the valleys of Aisne and Oise, which of course could not be done without climbs, the first of which was of a violent nature.

On the way in Trumilly, we asked Uncle Web about accommodation options for the coming night; however, the answer remained open, as the French network is at least as good as ours.

So we decided to deviate from the route and look for something suitable in Crepy en Valois. Our Garmin 'rewarded' this plan with an extra lap...

Once we arrived in Crepy en Valois, we were able to quickly find accommodation where we could even do our laundry.
