200 days on a world tour - the end is certain

Today is day 200 of our trip around the world. While we wait for the flight to New York, we are writing this post. Looking back, there hasn't been a day on which we regretted the decision to go on a trip around the world and temporarily leave our life at home behind us.

The world is beautiful. We have an unforgettable time, meet many people, have many new experiences and experience many highlights. Nevertheless, with each passing day we both become more aware that we miss our lives in Germany. We miss our friends, our families and our home. The trip made it clear to us once again how good we have it in Germany. Above all, we really learned to appreciate the “little things” that we take for granted on the trip. We have clean tap water, a stable electricity grid and almost all everyday information, such as timetables and city maps, are available digitally. We also miss sleeping in our own bed, finding everything we want in the supermarket and having a full fridge. Furthermore, we no longer just want to be guests, but rather feel the safety and security of our home again. The sum of all these reasons led us to book our flight home on October 19, 2023.

Tonight we're heading to America, the last continent on our journey before we return home on December 8th. Although we are very happy with this decision and are VERY excited to be home, we are also a little sad that our big adventure is ending.
