Wednesday morning, after a good coffee, we headed from Boston towards New Haven.
The first destination should be Plymouth.
Plymouth is a city in the state of Massachusetts. It was founded in 1620 by the Pilgrims. There you can visit a museum, which we did not visit, because the weather was too nice and the entrance fee was too expensive, instead we had bad fish on the pier. After that, we drove to Newport. There you can find beautiful villas.
We arrived in New Haven late in the evening. Nevertheless, we had a Mojito and watched as all the students packed up their entire room content into their cars, as the semester break began and all/many students have to leave their rooms during the holidays.
The next morning we visited the campus of Yale. The university is very impressive and it feels like everything is very community-oriented.
In the afternoon, our parents dropped me and my sister off at the Yotel in New York.
Anne and I had 3 more days together in New York.
We bought a Flexpass for $88 for 4 attractions, so we could use the hop-on-hop-off bus for 72 hours, go to the Rockefeller Center at night and visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum. We were too tired for the fourth attraction (MET) last night, so my sister will visit the museum alone this morning.
We spent about 3 hours at the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It was incredible. Sad, terrible, but also very well presented.
I was only 2 years old when the attack happened, but I can imagine how terrible everything must have been, especially after seeing the faces and names of the victims.
5 years ago we had the view from the Empire State Building during the day, so this time we decided to enjoy the view from the Rockefeller Center at night, which was really beautiful.
Now I've been sitting at the airport gate since 4:30 am.
Once again, I chose a "cheap" transfer for €17, so I was picked up at 3:00 am, drove through New York for 45 minutes to pick up people, and then drove another 45 minutes to the airport 😂.
Now I'm quite excited, because it's off to Lima. Already at check-in, no one spoke English anymore, so it will probably be quite exciting for me 😄.
Greetings from JFK 👋🏻
