Snorkeling at our own house reef and at the wreck US Liberty

Yesterday, just before it got dark, we jumped into the sea 🌊. We didn't even know we had our own house reef 😮. So I quickly went back to the bungalow and got our snorkeling gear 👍.

We had to swim out a bit and then a turtle 🐢 came towards us 😊. So out of pure joy and excitement, I inhaled plenty of saltwater 🙈. I can only say it was amazing, it was a great experience. The fish here are also super beautiful and come in all colors and sizes 😊. I'm totally thrilled, but then this stupid fear of a shark 🦈 biting me keeps coming up 🙈. I told Daniela, I'm cold, let's go out. Outside, I said that I was a bit scared because we were far out. She said, nothing will happen, they are more scared of you! A local joined us and recommended two snorkeling spots 👍.

Since these snorkeling areas were a bit far away, we rented a scooter today 😁. At first, I was worried about driving on the left and the crappy driving of some locals 🙈. We arranged the scooter at the hotel and got two helmets. Since we were afraid of lice, we put on our shower caps from the hotel 😂! We looked totally silly in them, but it's better that way. The hotel staff looked at us strangely 😇! Anyway! After a short briefing, we started.

Our first snorkeling stop was a shipwreck in Tulamben. It is the US Liberty, which is located off the coast in the sea. When we arrived there, there were some divers on the beach. You could also see two or three snorkelers out in the sea. The waves were a bit high today and the sea was very rough 😮. Oh, and I'm supposed to swim out there and look for a wreck 🙈. I felt a bit panicked. Daniela noticed and grinned, just swim out and look for the wreck. She suspected that it was where the other snorkelers were.

She was right. There was actually the old ship lying there. We could watch the divers below us, swimming around the wreck! I was so mesmerized by the sight that my fear of sharks was blown away. Daniela had her camera with her. She kept diving down and taking great shots 🤗. I didn't want to go back to land anymore, the fish there were so amazing 🐠🐡!

So, then we continued on the scooter to the second snorkel spot "Coral Garden"! It was a bit more difficult to discover the highlight here, there were supposed to be very beautiful corals and an old temple in the water! We watched a boat unloading divers and swam towards it! But we couldn't find a temple 😮. The corals were also not that impressive. But the fish, they were super beautiful again here! We let ourselves be carried to the beach with the current and then drove back to the hotel 👍. I have to say, riding the scooter went so well that we will go for a ride again tomorrow. Regarding snorkeling, it's like riding a scooter, we already found something new for tomorrow! I'm really excited 😉.
