After finding out that most trekking routes start in Kalaw and you hike from there to Inle Lake, I made my way to Kalaw. I took a fully occupied minibus with only locals to the small village. The journey took about 40 minutes and it was pouring with rain. When I arrived at my hotel, I rented a scooter to explore the town and surrounding area, but it was raining so heavily and it wasn't as warm anymore, so I returned to the hotel and spent the rest of the day in my room. I was probably the only guest because I also ate dinner alone. Due to the unpredictable weather, I decided against a multi-day trek and went on a short hike to a viewpoint with two hotel staff. It was an easy path and the distance wasn't too long (about two hours there, two hours back). But at least I did something. The weather held up pretty well, it only rained briefly once. Otherwise, there wasn't much to see or do in Kalaw. So I was a bit bored and on the same day, I took the night bus to my next and final destination in Myanmar, thus ending my Southeast Asia trip...
