The week started with a barbecue in Coogee with some friends. That was almost the only highlight of the week.
I spent the remaining days with organizational stuff: applying for a tax number and bank account, completing the White Card course (safety training in order to be allowed to work on a construction site) and writing applications for jobs. In contrast to Germany, in Australia you don't apply directly to a company, but rather to a recruitment company, which then places you with the job and company. The whole thing can take a lot of time. I applied for jobs as a construction worker or as a gardener because that's where you earn the most money.
For the weekend I rented an AirBnB in Manly with 3 friends. After 2 weeks of hostel life, it was relaxing to have your own apartment for a while.
