I reach my destination by:
1. Risking my life
2. Being able to do without sufficient (or any) lighting
3. Not minding very rough road surfaces
4. Not minding completely missing road surfaces
5. Being excited about the risk that the 'car' could hit the ground at any time, 100km away from civilization
6. Compensating for the lack of shock absorbers with my spine
7. Not shying away from physical contact
8. Standing in a bus for one and a half hours in miserable road conditions
9. Squeezing myself into an overcrowded bus in Lima during rush hour with my giant backpack and getting scolded by other passengers
10. Securing my luggage from falling off myself
11. Using truck loading areas as a normal means of transportation
12. Taking 2 hours for 10km
13. Adjusting my European body measurements to the local proportions (pulling in legs and head)
14. Being happy about ANY seat, whether it's inside, on, or attached to the vehicle
15. Being happy about every km/h above the speed limit, especially when the speedometer is broken
16. Being happy about every strip of duct tape that holds the vehicle together
A few moving impressions ;)
