Kuala Lumpur - Capital feeling

After checking out, we take an Uber to the bus that takes us to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur in 2 hours. We check into our hostel and explore the surroundings. Just around the corner is the Food Street, where street stalls line up one after another and where we have lunch. Afterwards, we walk a little further and go through 2 different malls. One is a paradise for men, as it only sells electronics and everything related. In the second mall, there is mainly clothing, but only in Asian/children's sizes and on 10 floors including a theme park.

Back at the hostel, we join the pub quiz and meet Evy, Nichlas and Tom from our hostel in Malacca again. Together, we form a team. Unfortunately, Jasmin stays in the hostel due to a headache. In the end, we end up in the middle of the field, but it was a lot of fun. After that, we briefly go to a dance bar. There, we get into an Asian dance battle like we have never experienced before.

The next day, we start very late and go to the Batu Caves. These are caves in which a Hindu temple has been built. In front of the stairs leading to the caves stands a 30 m high gold-colored statue. Jasmin and Claudi have to cover their legs when entering again using a cloth. Afterwards, we have Indian food (using only the bare right hand). For the evening, we have arranged to meet Laura and Mylene, two Canadians we also met in our hostel in Malacca, at the Heli Lounge Bar. This is located on the roof of a 34-storey building. During the day, it is a helipad. From there, we have a great view of the illuminated city and also of the Petronas Towers, the landmark of the city. Shortly afterwards, another acquaintance of the Canadians comes by, along with 3 colleagues. All 4 of them are Germans and are currently doing an internship at Mercedes Benz. Later, we go to a dance bar where women can drink completely for free. Not a bad offer, and from time to time, Claudi also gives me a few drinks. ;)

After dancing, we go to the hostel of the Canadians, as there is a large swimming pool there. However, just before we reach the hostel, three scooters come around the corner, each with two men on them. The passengers get off and each pull out a machete and want to attack us, even though we are 7 people! We run as fast as we can. At first, I thought it was a stupid prank, also because I saw that the machetes were not sharp. But they really meant it. Fortunately, apart from a shock for life, no one was hurt. Help came from a car with locals, who immediately turned around when they saw the scooter riders behind us. We also called the police, but of course they couldn't do anything, as we were too perplexed to remember license plates or anything like that. After we all calmed down, we took a taxi home.

The next day, we spent shopping in the KLCC Mall. On the one hand, to distract ourselves and on the other hand, because we had planned to do it beforehand. In the evening, we met Sebastian, whom we had met in Australia with Niko and who will now accompany us :)
