Holiday in April

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 14.04.2017

Hi guys,

It was about time for the beach again, so we decided to escape to the south of Myanmar. This part of the country is still very natural and untouched, with many local villages that are quite remote. Our first stop was in Ye. There, we went to Binlelwa Beach, which wasn't very clean, but that didn't bother us. We just continued on our scooter through the fishing villages. Due to the hot temperature in Myanmar and the difficulty of keeping food fresh and cool, the locals simply dry their fish on the beach in the sun and then sell it in the markets. Everywhere you look around Ye, there are fishermen and fruit vendors. We particularly enjoyed the amazing taste of the mangoes, pineapples, bananas, and apples here.

Just outside the city, there is a large monastery complex that we visited. The 9-story tower with four Buddha statues around it was very impressive. The view from the top was also breathtaking. Next to the tower, they are currently building a sleeping Buddha statue and a completed monastery complex with meditation rooms. Every visitor to the complex is invited to a welcome meal. The food is cooked by local women volunteers and tastes incredibly delicious. We had rice, vegetable curry, and a vegetable soup.

After two days in Ye, we headed to our actual destination, Dawei. Upon arrival in Dawei, we booked accommodation on Sint Hauk Beach and spent the next six days there. On April 3, 2017, we went to the beach, which is truly paradise-like in a bay, away from everything and without Wi-Fi, completely secluded from civilization. It's the best place to relax with its soft sand, blue sea, palm trees, and a cool sea breeze. Of course, we weren't the only people there. We met six girls and spent our evenings on the beach with a bonfire, grilling, playing cards with beer, or simply chatting, enjoying our beach vacation.

Filled with fresh energy, on April 11, 2017, we drove from Dawei to the Thailand border, which we successfully and safely crossed. On the way there, we were a bit unsure due to the quite hilly, sandy, and steep road through the mountains.

Best regards,
your Egger girls

Hi guys,

Now it's time for a beach. Therefore we drove down to Ye. Close to Thailand. In this part of Myanmar, life is very simple and not well-known by tourists. Our first beach was Binlelwa, which was good for swimming. Only for sunbathing. We drove with our scooter through the jungle and on the beach. There we saw some fishermen working. They catch their fish in the sea and let them dry in the sun. It's better for them to preserve their food since the heat makes it difficult to keep them cool. They also have very good fruits like pineapples, bananas, mangoes, and watermelons. We love them. On the second day, we drove 20 minutes out of the city and visited a monastery. It's a building with 9 stories and many many steps :( Outside the building is a huge Buddha statue on each side. It looks enormous. As visitors and members, you can get a free meal prepared by volunteer women. It was rice, vegetables, curry, and soup.

After 2 days, we drove further south to our destination, Dawei. We stayed there for 5 days on Sin Thauk Beach. It is far, far away from civilization. We had no Wi-Fi, electricity only at 4 pm, and sand everywhere. It was perfect. We had the beach to ourselves. We spent all our time with 6 girls, playing cards, drinking beer, swimming, and talking while getting sunburned. :) In general, it is a perfect place to relax.

On April 10, 2017, we drove to Thailand and explored this country.

Love, Klara & Luci
