Bacalar- Caye Caulker-San Ignacio

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 05.08.2016

Hi guys

We traveled with the girls from Tulum down to Laguna Bacalar. We found a hostel right on the lake. The only thing they had available was an old, run-down caravan, so we decided to take it. The nights were tolerable. In the evening, we rented bikes and cruised through the town. It's a small town with many cute shops. We spent the second day just by the lake, sunbathing, chatting, and sleeping.

On July 26th, we took the bus towards Belize. We took a water taxi from Chetumal to cross the border and go to Caye Caulker Island. 2 1/2 hours on the boat with saltwater on our faces. Not really relaxing.

The island had its charm with its colorful houses, sandy streets, and English-speaking residents. However, it was very expensive.

Our days went like this: wake up, go to the beach, swim, sunbathe, go partying in the evening, and endure the hangover the next morning with a toast, egg, and cheese breakfast.

Since everything here cost us a lot of money, we went back to the mainland on the 30th of July. This time it only took 40 minutes. From there, we continued by bus to San Ignacio. The city is even smaller than Bacalar, it feels like there's only one main street here. In the evening, we went out to find food and chilled at the hostel. The next day was filled with action. We went cave tubing. We had to walk through the jungle with our tubes for 40 minutes first. Beautiful nature but also many mosquitoes 😕. The tubing was relaxing, just drifting in the water. We jumped from rocks, swam in caves, and had a delicious meal to finish it off. Overall, a nice day.

The next day was not so great. We had to say goodbye to the girls because we're heading to Guatemala and their route takes them back to Mexico.

Warm regards

Yours Egger Girls

Hi Guys

We traveled with the Girls down to Laguna Bacalar. Stayed at a Hostel on the Laguna, but the only Place to sleep was an old Camper. So we decided, to sleep in there. Why not \ud83e\uDD17. The Nights were okay but we prefer a bed. In the evening we rented some Bikes and drove through the City. It's a small little town with cute Shops. the Second day we only spent at the Laguna, talked, enjoyed the Sun and relaxed.

On the 26.07 we went to Belize. From Chetumal we took a Watertaxi to go through the Border and to the Island Caye Caulker. 2 1/2 Hour on top of a Boat with Saltwater in your Face. Not really funny. The Island is cute with its colorful houses, sandy streets & its English-speaking People. But it's very Expensive.

Our days started: get up, go to the Beach, Swim, get burned, celebrate in the evening & fight against the Hang-over with a Toast-Egg & Cheese breakfast.

On the 30.07 we went back to the Mainland Belize and took a Bus to San Ignacio.

This town seems smaller than Bacalar. With only one Main Street. In the evening we looked for some Food and relaxed in the Hostel.

The next day was full of Action. We went Cave-Tubing.

The First 40 minutes you have to Walk with your Tube through the Jungle. Amazing Nature but a lot of Mosquitoes.

The Drive on the Water was slow. We jumped from Rocks, swam in Cenotes, and had a delicious Lunch. A perfect day.

The Next Day started with tears. We had to say Goodbye to the Girls because we're going to drive to Guatemala and they're going back to Mexico.

Love
