Today, shortly after 9:00 AM, I disembarked with a few other travelers. We wandered aimlessly through the city and passed by some beautiful buildings.
I stayed with the group until we reached the botanical garden, which was about to open its doors. I had other plans.
I went back, passing by an open-air museum where reconstructions of earlier houses, as they were during Hans Christian Andersen's time, are displayed. But I wasn't drawn to that either.
My goal was a small underground museum called the 'Viking Museum'. First, I noticed that there was no staff present. Posters ask visitors to purchase tickets from a machine. I find it very charming that they still have so much trust in people here. So, I bought a ticket and looked around. There were excavated objects like the skeleton of a presumably murdered person and reconstructions like that of a 'sunken house'. The museum was built directly at the site of some of the objects and therefore underground.
After less than an hour, I left the museum. I had hoped to find a restroom in the museum, which unfortunately was not the case. So, I looked for a public restroom and found one. However, the toilets were locked. A sign indicated that you had to send a specific text to the provided phone number to open it. Opening the door via SMS. That was new. I tried it, and it worked.
Afterwards, I returned to the ship for a light lunch. After a midday nap, I put on my light suit, received compliments for it, listened to the String Trio, and then turned to the highlight of the 'Formal Night,' the dinner with escargots and lobster tail. A table neighbor brought champagne, which he poured for us.
I met up for a cocktail with Joan, then I went to my cabin.
