01.11.19 From Ushuaia to Buenos Aires Day 13

Today we are heading back to Buenos Aires from Ushuaia.

The hotel room was not great. Yesterday, the hairdryer almost exploded and at the reception, they told me that it happens sometimes when it's warm outside. There is no power outlet in the room, the breakfast is average, and the checkout time is at 10 AM.

We spend the morning in the lobby, overlooking the harbor, and then take a taxi to the airport.

The flight to Buenos Aires takes about 3.5 hours.

At the airport, you need to get a ticket for the taxi inside. You pay for the ticket price in the taxi. It costs 490 Pesos to go to San Telmo. We arrive in a strange area near our hotel. The rooms are quite run-down and have a complete Eastern Bloc style. We also have a view of a wall from our window☹️

The next room offered to us has the same view.

We discuss for hours at the reception because we do not want to stay here. We go to the restaurant to eat as it is already late, and later agree that we will stay one night and can cancel the other nights free of charge.

The restaurant and the food, however, are very good again.

I eat roadkill chicken😂😂

At the next table, there is a family eating and everyone is staring at their phones🙄

We book an apartment, which is actually located in San Telmo and even cheaper than this hotel.

It was not a very eventful day of travel and my first impression of Buenos Aires is: loud, it stinks, and thus an extreme contrast to the peace, nature, and great air of the previous stages.
