Our last days in Costa Rica were spent in the capital city, San José. Originally, we had planned a 16-hour drive to Panama. However, we quickly changed our plans when we found out that a flight to Panama City was only $20 more. So we had a few more days in the capital. Our goal here was to visit an active volcano. Unfortunately, the volcano was active at that time and was closed. Even the national park surrounding the volcano was off-limits. It's a shame, but safety comes first!
All in all, we really enjoyed our time in Costa Rica. The people were friendly and warm. What stood out the most was how conversations quickly became personal and deep, but in a pleasant way. The country with its stunning nature and variety of food is truly a place where we could imagine living for a few years.
Pura Vida is more than just an expression. The people here are enthusiasts - enjoying food, drink, laughter, emotions, and communication with others are more important than time, money, or material things. Their pride in their country and its unbelievable nature is well-deserved, and the Ticos showed us this through their kind and warm manner every time.
Pura Vida!
