Siquijor Island, The Philippines

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 23.05.2018

We decided to leave early in the morning so that we would definitely make it to Siquijor. First, we had to take a tricycle from our accommodation to the bus stop. There, we took the same bus that we took to Moalboal and continued further south on the island. Luckily, the bus was already there when we arrived (there are no fixed schedules) and even luckier, it wasn't as crowded as last time. So we rode this bus for 1.5 hours before having to take another tricycle for 10 minutes to the ferry port. From there, we took a ferry for one hour to the island of Negros. With the tricycle, it took us 20 minutes to reach Demaguete and the other ferry port, which then took us to our destination island in 1.5 hours. Finally, a tricycle took us to our accommodation. We had to switch six times. In the end, we realized that everything went very smoothly and quickly, and we arrived earlier than expected.

Siquijor was another snorkeling paradise with its several protected marine parks. In these parks, boats are (supposedly) not allowed and fishing or any damaging of corals is prohibited.

It also had a beautiful waterfall where, just like in Moalboal, I could jump off a cliff and swing into the water with a rope. Only this time, the rope was over 5 meters high. The adrenaline rush was so breathtaking that I jumped about 5 times.

Since we had enough time planned for our trip, we spontaneously decided to go to the small island of Apo, which is supposedly the best place in the Philippines for diving.
