Haarlem, probably the most popular shopping city in the Netherlands. And that's true, because there are pretty much all the shops here that the small towns otherwise only have to a limited extent. The second hand shops are particularly striking. Here too, as seen in Gouda, with an extensive offering.
We liked the city itself less after Utrecht and Gouda. We found it very loud, tiring and confusing.
Here too you have to pay an entrance fee to be able to visit a church. We were quite irritated that right at the checkout the cashier begged us to donate to Alzheimer's patients. So from her privately, so to speak. We hadn't even gotten the change back for the entrance fee. Nothing against donations for a good cause but that was more of an attack than a request for donations.
After the usual back and forth through the city, we decided to leave it and visit a castle ruin nearby. This is closed one day of the week, can you guess which one? Exactly, today for Thursday. So without further ado we drove a little further to look at bunkers. Well, the thing about rest days. Closed here too. So there was only a short fuel stop and then we went back to the campsite.
