Moin Sydney: First storms then sunshine (I'm running out of superlatives)

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 10.04.2024

We have now arrived in Sydney and are doing great. The journey was anything but easy, however. A real storm was raging over Sydney. Rain and storms - not really a problem for us Hamburgers - but this was one of the more severe ones.

The landing was really horrible and I was terrified of throwing up - but everything went well. Then our plane couldn't dock at the gate because the winds were too strong. And so, despite landing at 2:10 p.m., we didn't get to the hotel until 6 p.m.

Well, what the heck. We ordered Greek food at the hotel and spent the evening comfortably in our room.

In the morning we headed into the city center. And we really like it here. Sydney is very beautiful, clean and somehow classy. The vibe in Melbourne was somewhat cooler, but Sydney seems elegant in a way.

We walked through the botanical garden, where there were some really impressive trees to see, and along the waterfront to the Opera.

Wow: until a few days ago I never thought that I would ever see this building (which I'm sure everyone knows) in reality. But now we were sitting there, finally in the sun ☀️.

We strolled past the Harbour Bridge through the city to the Sydney Tower. We just missed the sunset but the view was still very beautiful.

By the way, we had falafel for dinner today. I tell myself that it's at least half healthy. Here in Australia there is a lot of fast food. Anyway, it was really tasty. For dessert I ordered baklava - yes, exactly... I must have forgotten about the healthy part 😂😂😂

It was another day full of highlights, and I'm slowly running out of words for everything we've been able to experience here. So I'll just use one, which I think sums it up pretty well: GRATEFUL ❤️
