08.12.2016 - Silves

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 10.12.2016

We drove from Almacao de Pera to Porches. This place is supposed to be known for its pottery workshops. However, we didn't discover anything worth seeing. Either they were closed or didn't meet our taste. So we continued inland to Lagoa, but we didn't like this place at all either. After a short walk through the town center, we left again. Onwards to Silves, where we found a place to stay overnight on a large parking lot. We didn't like the parking space next door and neither did four other motorhomes. :-)

In Silves, on the Rio Arcade, we visited a large Moorish castle with many well-preserved parts. It housed the last Moorish king, Aben Afan. In 1189, Sancho I conquered the castle and the city.

On the way back, I must have stepped in a pile of dog poop somewhere. In any case, I spread it around in the motorhome, so a floor cleaning had to be done. We disposed of the carpet right on the spot.
