Day 8 - heading towards the mountains

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 09.08.2024

A rainy day. Just right for getting to the next place, relaxing, and nursing the sore muscles.

John has planned the route and found a nice spot in Haugesund. Halfway to Bergen. 'Haraldshaugen Camping'.

One alcohol test later ...

John: 'isn't it a little bit early for an alcohol test?' (It was 10:30 AM)

Police Officer: 'Alcoholics drink the whole day.'

How right he is.

After that, through the tunnel, over the ferry from Mortavika to Arsvågen, where we were a bit startled because 'Bergen' was written on it, and we were afraid that we were going to end up directly in Bergen. But it just meant that the highway continues to Bergen after the ferry. Good to know.

Now we are standing with a view over the bay, at 'Plan B, because we are fully booked' camping spot next to an excavator.

No electricity, which was finally a challenge with the sandwich toaster (2000 watts) for the inverter. And for John, because it was raining.

Whoever loves their toaster holds the umbrella over it. - This also applies to everything else except toasters - old Norwegian wisdom.

By the way, 'motorhome' is called 'Bobil' in Norwegian. Somehow nicer than in German, right?
