From Mercat de la Boqueria to Barri Gòtic it is just a stone's throw across the street La Rambla. With the pictures, I want to give an impression of the Gothic Quarter with its diverse sights. Small shops have settled on the ground floor in the narrow streets. There are many restaurants, museums, and art exhibitions. In the alleys, you can find shade in many places, so that even the 29°C are relatively bearable with a slight breeze. Local goods are offered up to globally traded souvenirs. Many shops sell the jerseys of the local FC Barcelona.
Many of the architectural monuments date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. To get an insight into these buildings, we recommend good preparation. The most important buildings can be booked online in advance. Admission will then be open to you at the desired time.
We had paella on the agenda that day, at La Cuina de Laietana at the end of Via Laietana. We were well taken care of in the small restaurant, we can recommend it.
