Day 11-from Münster to Flaesheim

After a nice rest day and a restless night, we left Münster towards the southwest. The outskirts of Münster were characterized by industrial buildings, some of them abandoned. We continued on the Dortmund-Ems Canal through Hiltruds and Senden, rather unspectacular but with large tankers without any possibility to overtake, patience is required. After about 5 hours, we reached my old home, the Ruhr area. A clear sign of that was the voice of the lock keeper. At Datteln, we switched to the Wesel-Dattel Canal, which connects the northern Ruhr area from east to west. Here, the first lock Datteln was immediately followed by 10 meters down and another 10 km later, the Ahsen lock, another 9 meters down. Shortly afterwards, we moored at Marina Flaesheim, a very nice ambience with very communicative neighbors. In combination with a large campsite with 400 pitches, there was a restaurant with outdoor lighting, so from 9:00 pm onwards, there were no longer any sober visitors. We then returned to the boat, rejected an invitation from the neighbors, played several rounds of Bauernskat (a card game), and then slept well.
