On the way to Trier

In the morning at 10 o'clock we started at a sweltering 33 degrees towards the Eifel. With optimized luggage for 3 weeks, we even had space in the suitcases...

...well, not very much... rather for a few small things...

When we left, we still had the hope that it would be a few degrees cooler in the Eifel. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. First, we went to the Rursee near Einruhr on familiar routes. We actually felt like stopping at our favorite swimming pool for a break, but we restrained ourselves. We wanted to go swimming, but later...

After a really beautiful route, we spontaneously stopped at Abachtal at the Nohner Mühle. In the shade - of course! Because it had already reached over 40 degrees - and that's a lot even in a combi with ventilation slots!! So we took off our clothes first...

...and walked to the waterfall.

Well, it wasn't Iceland (@Dori), but still beautiful and close to the water and very refreshing. Afterwards, we had a drink and something to eat at the Nohner Mühle.

It was very cozy there, even though the sun umbrellas only shielded a little bit from the scorching heat.

So back into the combi and on to Daun to Schalkenmehrener Maar. We had chosen it as a nice bathing spot. We weren't the only ones there, but the cool water was wonderful!!

And meanwhile, we took a little nap:

Afterwards, we had a really nice tour to Trier ahead of us. Many curves, luckily often through the forest... it's unbelievable that you can be happy about 38 degrees. Even at 6 pm, still no cooling down.

Our hotel in Trier is located at Kockelsberg, beautifully surrounded by trees and tranquility, just right for us. We feel very comfortable in our beautiful room, the view down to Trier is great!

it was time to relax and sleep, the day had worn us out.
