After a good breakfast outdoors, we headed towards Liseberg Park at 11:00. By 11:20, we were standing in a long queue with no entrance in sight. We were already considering postponing the trip to the next day when suddenly there was movement in the crowd and we started moving forward at a decent pace.
Thinking that the large number of people would spread out in the park and not be noticeable, we plunged into the fun. However, this was quickly dampened when we realized that on average, it took about 40-60 minutes of waiting to get to the rides. Two hours later, we had only been on two rides and decided to take a lunch break. But here came the next surprise - the park was so crowded that we had a hard time finding a table and the line at the self-service was also extremely long. However, the food wasn't that good ;).
'The park should come up with something to ensure we can sleep satisfied!'
But we didn't give up that easily. So we dove back into a short (30min) queue. However, this would be our only short enjoyment of the day.
The following attractions already required a high level of patience. Again, we stood in line for an average of 50 minutes to experience the thrill of a spectacular roller coaster for about 2 minutes. But since we were already there, we accepted it. Surprisingly, it became so extreme that it was already 22:30 when the safety bar of the roller coaster closed for the last time. We have never spent so long in an amusement park.
Summary: Liseberg Park would be a very nice amusement park with some great attractions if the operators would reduce the number of visitors. Waiting 40-60 minutes for a ride, for every attraction, is just too exhausting. Furthermore, the culinary offerings are very disappointing. The quality is bad and the wait times are too long. Other parks can do much better (Legoland, Familypark, Europapark...)
