Cameron Highlands

Hello everyone,
after our arrival at the hostel, we were able to book a tour for the next day after a short consultation. It started with a breakfast followed by a jeep ride through the winding mountain roads, then onto dirt tracks and steep slopes in the jungle. The group of about 20 people was informed by the guide about the dangers in the jungle. We do not need to fear snakes with a round head, but those with a triangular head are very dangerous. We should also be careful of wild boars, because even the 50cm long machete of our guide is not of much help. Instead, we should climb a tree as quickly as possible. After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking in the jungle, we reached our destination, the Rafflesia. It has one of the largest flowers in the world and blooms only for a few days. After a rainy and muddy return journey, we went to a local village with the jeeps, which we visited and where we tried our hand at blowpipe hunting. After a quick lunch together, we continued to the famous tea plantations. We were lucky because we could see the many workers harvesting and hike through the tea plantation. Not far from there is the tea factory, where we were given a tour and drank tea on the terrace with a view. As a finale, our guide showed us a very special path through a secret moss forest with beautiful views at the summit. Yesterday, our journey continued by bus after visiting a waterfall. We are now on Penang Island in Georgetown, where today we are going to a huge adventure park. The park has the world's longest water slide. We are excited to see what awaits us today and will soon report back to you.
See you soon,
Malia
