Hi guys,
the last two days were absolutely fantastic!
Yesterday we left our idyllic campsite in the middle of nowhere in the morning. Destinations were the "Cape Farewell", the northernmost point of the South Island, and the "Bully Point", a mountain near the cape. The walk to Cape Farewell took 5 minutes, so it was clearly doable. The top itself was really beautiful and truly impressive, just like the surrounding nature. The twenty-minute hike to "Bully Point" was not boring either, but it wasn't really a highlight either, as we had seen most of it already! Afterwards, we headed towards "Takaka", a very alternative "hippie village" that we checked out. We strolled through the streets and amused ourselves about the clothes that were offered to us for purchase, in which we would have surely looked funny!
The rest of the day, we spent at a campsite near a river, which was really beautiful.
Today, a fishing day was on the agenda! We started relatively early from the campsite and went to the "Motueka River", a very fish-rich river here in New Zealand. Full of hope and well-read, we went to the water. The weather was really fantastic, just like the nature was simply amazing. In complete tranquility, all alone next to a river, in the middle of nature, I tried my luck. Unfortunately, my efforts were not rewarded with success at the end of the day, but I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it!
Tomorrow, we will go to the "Nelson Lakes", a few lakes located between the beginnings of the New Zealand Alps! I am very curious!
Greetings from Richmond, New Zealand!🇳🇿
Your Tim!😊
