The lights in the camper turned on in good time so we could take the next leg south. The original plan was to drive around 500km to the small town of “Yepoon” and arrive there around early afternoon. We then spontaneously decided to drive a little further to shorten the next route.

We found a campsite in Agnes Water, with beach access and the information that free-roaming kangaroos can be seen in the area. So let's go.

In principle, the 700km would have been relatively stress-free to drive, but a loud, dull thud overshadowed the journey on the highway - the drain valve was torn from the domestic water tank and so we had to stop at the hardware store. Waterproof adhesive tape was only able to solve the problem to a limited extent, which is why a visit to the workshop is on the agenda in Brisbane on Monday.

Shortly before we arrived, a police officer flagged us down for an alcohol check, which we passed without any problems with a blood alcohol level of 0.0.

We were rewarded, completely unexpectedly, with lots of kangaroos calmly feeding on the side of the road. Really impressive and the long journey was immediately forgotten!

In the evening there was a walk on the beach at sunset and Australian sausages (beef - no kangaroo) from the grill, but they weren't really convincing.
