We celebrated New Year's Eve here on the farm. A few friends came to visit and we had turkey and lots of banana ice cream for dessert. At midnight, we welcomed the new year with a big fireworks display. And a rocket flew directly at me and Nicole (but nothing happened, except for a few burn marks on Nicole's jacket and my hair ;) and just before midnight, a calf was born :) and it snowed a lot :)
In the last 3 days, we cleaned out the sheep pen and prepared everything for the lambs that are coming soon. I also went sledding with John again (this time with more snow) and one evening, I went to the movies with Nicole. Two days ago, Sean and Laurie took Nicole to the airport because she is studying in Victoria. And of course, a few cattle escaped because a fence pole fell over. Mel and I put all the cattle in the other pasture and counted them (and there were all 47 there :)
Today, I milked Coco alone for the first time, but I am really slow. I only milked a little bit because the rest is for the calf.
I have been here for almost a month now and we have never had bad weather. It's really great here, I don't think there is bad weather at all.... The sun is always shining or it's snowing. But mostly the sun is shining. And there is nothing better than playing in the sun with the calf and the 3 dogs ;)
