This day started a bit later than usual. We woke up around 11 and left shortly before 12. Our destination: the Golden Temple.
On the way there, we also visited Osaka Castle and explored both the inside and outside.
However, since we hadn't had breakfast, we started to get hungry and took a lunch break at a small café on the way to the temple.
After walking for over an hour, we finally arrived at the Golden Temple. The temple itself was absolutely beautiful and we were lucky to have such good weather. Along the path we walked, there was a bowl where you could throw money (probably for good luck), and despite my reputation as a terrible thrower, I hit it directly. At the end of the round, we both got ice cream from a vending machine to cool down.
Afterwards, we made our way back to the hotel (since most shrines and temples close at 5 pm), and passed by a shrine that was still open. There, we not only explored, but also performed a ritual cleansing.
Before heading back to the hotel, we ate katsudon (a type of pork cutlet on rice) at one of the many restaurants in the city.
And so, another day in Kyoto came to an end, even though it was a bit more relaxing and less eventful.
