From our campsite, the dream destination of all Christian pilgrims is not far away and is easily reachable by car. We have the 🚲 back on board and plan to park in a town before our destination and then ride the 🚲, preferably on a pilgrim path, to our destination. As we search the internet for pilgrim paths along the way, we cannot find any quickly.
Spontaneously, we drive to a different, unplanned small town. While looking for a parking space, we get lost in a forest and suddenly encounter pilgrims. We decide to join them - the pilgrim path has been found, we just need to find a parking space ... wonder if someone had a hand in that 🤔😊.
We park the car at a shopping center, prepare the bikes, and ride the very beautiful pilgrim path to our destination. Along the way, we pass many pilgrims who clearly have been traveling for a long time.
Just before Santiago de Compostela, the pilgrim path forks into two directions and we take the path towards the Cathedral.
The pilgrim path abruptly merges into a newly built neighborhood and there are no more signs or the well-known guideposts.
We simply continue on the road until we come across a city park with many pilgrims. We leave the 🚲 there and walk through the old and beautiful streets towards the Cathedral. Inside the Cathedral, there is a huge line of pilgrims and tourists who want to see the tomb of Saint James - we decide not to stand in line.
After a short break and some shopping, we ride the pilgrim path back to the car.
It was another beautiful day - visiting Santiago de Compostela was worth it.
At the end of the day, we visited the Spanish Lidl, which is tailored to the needs of each country - here, for example, they have frozen seafood without packaging, sold by the kilo 👍😊
