Day 47: We leave early because the parking lot for our planned hike can only accommodate two vehicles. Fortunately, when we arrive it is still empty and we can set off unhindered.
The path to Kameno Vouno is very well marked. However, it is steep and requires the use of hands again and again due to the boulders to be overcome. Kameno Vouno is one of the many volcanoes on the Methana peninsula. The ascent takes us about 45 minutes, so it's just a technical walk. Nevertheless, the adrenaline-pumping journey was worth it in my opinion. Because the combination of raised rock on the one hand and bizarrely solidified lava on the other is something you don't get to see and touch every day! And then the beautiful view of the surrounding islands. Unfortunately clouded over by clouds today.
Later, more and more clouds gather over the island, while the view in the distance promises blue skies. So let's go! But the clouds seem to stick to us. Nevertheless, the temperatures are quite pleasant, so that we take a bath on the deserted beach of Nea Epidaurus (on the way to Corinth).
On the way we book the Patras-Bari ferry for the way home. Unfortunately, the "Camping on Board" places are already sold out for our desired date and the following days. But in the end it works the day before.
In the late afternoon we land at the Olivetree Camperstop near Corinth. We want to do laundry there and be free after 4 nights and take a shower again. The campsite only reopened at Easter. The sanitary facilities are correspondingly top. However, one or the other is still under construction. For example, we have to improvise quite a bit when cleaning our grill, because the water taps have already been installed, but no sinks have been installed yet.
