Telavi and the farewell to Georgia

ที่ตีพิมพ์: 02.09.2023

We quickly left Lake Ilia behind us, then went briefly to Telavi, stocked up on supplies, visited the castle and coped with the heat in the hustle and bustle of the city and made a plan to get to Armenia as quickly as possible.
Armenia was not on anyone's radar in our group of 6, much less on their famous "bucket list". But true to the motto - "Follow the River" - the Fantastisch tour group went even further south - to the cradle of Christianity. We have already seen enough churches and monasteries - but the travelers' recommendations also revolved around the amazing nature. On the way we sat in Tsinandali Park next to an old, venerable royal seat and tasted wine and then stopped at a "nose castle" where the view over the wine region was relaxing for the eyes. When we crossed the border everyone had to get out of the camper and After a somewhat unhappy border official in Georgia, we met a friendlier person on the Armenian side. The border crossing is in Sadakhlo. Big change for me - there is no luggage check - Yeah, that's a really welcome change!
