We took it easy today and enjoyed the hotel's pool area after a hearty breakfast. Several pools at different levels, a central whirlpool hut, all surrounded by palm trees and colorful shrubs. Lounge chairs scattered around in small groups, everything very spacious. The hotel fairies (that's the only way to describe them) came by every now and then to bring drinks or - the highlight - watermelon juice on a stick! I worked on my report from the previous day, uploaded pictures (took forever...), and finished my book.
In the afternoon, we walked through the park grounds of the peninsula to the harbor. Sailboats and motorboats mainly dock there, so the harbor promenade is all about water sports and tourism. Sailing equipment shops, wellness oases, souvenir shops, bars, and restaurants are all vying for the attention of visitors. We found a Hard Rock Café, had cocktails, ate cheesecake, and bought T-shirts 😉😁. And then suddenly a local rugby player walked into the bar, and the party went wild! The guy can move! It was a very cool performance and the atmosphere was relaxed!
In the evening, after dinner with fresh fish, the restaurant crew sang a Fijian farewell song for us, together with two guys from Switzerland. I have to admit, I got goosebumps and a few tears in my eyes. Fiji is amazing, and the people are incredibly warm-hearted. It's hard to say goodbye!
The next morning, after breakfast, we drive back to Nadi, return the car, and check in for our flight to Upolu, Apia (Samoa).
