Chicken Alaska _ Eagle AK _ Dawson City YT

Ralf and I met on Sunday morning in Fairbanks. He really enjoyed riding the extra kilometers to the Arctic Circle. Check out his blog if you're interested.

We rode our ponies through some amazing scenery, over paved and unpaved dirt roads, to the famous Chicken AK, an old gold mining city. We found a free campsite next to the saloon, so we spent the money we saved on beer and whisky and hung out with the local gold miners. It was crazy cool.

The next day, we only rode on unpaved gravel dirt roads for 350km (220 miles).

Eagle, located on the Yukon River, was a challenging 65-mile ride from the start and another 65 miles to return. It was perfect.

On our way out, we encountered a caribou migration! There were hundreds, or even thousands, of caribou everywhere!

After entering the US, we rode on the Top of the World Highway. It was a 70-mile ridge with stunning views on both sides for about 150 miles. It was unbelievable! The dirt road was also perfect for our outdoorsy ponies. In the evening, we strolled through Dawson City and found a bar 😊.

I've ridden a total of 10,000 miles (16,000 km) since starting on May 28th at Gerry's.

Check out the pictures.
