So, the day started at Hotel Elmira with breakfast, coffee, and for the non-drivers, cognac. The host Elmira was not deterred by that either. Can be done. I received the almost full remaining bottle as a gift for later. Just in case or something.
Well, during the general vehicle check, there was a coolant puddle under the car. It's leaking at the pump flange. Tightened it, now it seems to be sealed for now.
Then we went to Rabati, Sapara, and Vartzia. There we had to visit various monasteries, castles, mosques, and cave systems. Just take a look at the pictures, it's very impressive.
Today ends in Ninotsminda, lots of uphill/downhill until then, many hairpin bends with great views, and of course, the occasional power loss of the engine, which eventually comes back. A week ago, this would have worried me a lot, now I've learned to live with it.
We covered 197km today.
In Ninotsminda, we went to the Ararat Restaurant, where you usually sit at a table in your own room and not with other guests in a large hall. It was delicious and affordable...
Before that, David, a 21-year-old Armenian, approached us on the street. He speaks perfect German with a very distinctive accent and apparently taught it to himself. He seemed to know everything about the world, about Goethe and other old German literature, and could immediately name three sights in Dresden even though he had never been there. He also believed that the USA offers 100% peace and 100% democracy. If he says so... In any case, a very unique personality. It was a very interesting encounter...
And then I was approached by locals, asking if I wanted to sell the bike that I carry on the roof, just in case. But somehow I couldn't bring myself to do it.
